Who we are
exams.lv is an independent practice platform for the Latvian A2 state language exam (valsts valodas prasmes pārbaude). This site — exams.lv — is the marketing and information site; the practice application runs on app.exams.lv. The data controller for both is the exams.lv team, reachable at hello@exams.lv.
exams.lv is not affiliated with VIAA or any Latvian state authority. Nothing you do on this site is reported to any exam authority.
Analytics — only with your consent
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages help people prepare, and nothing else. Analytics runs behind Google Consent Mode v2 with every storage category denied by default: no analytics cookie is set until you press “Accept” on the cookie banner. Declining is one click and the site works identically either way.
We do not run advertising, and advertising storage is permanently denied in our consent configuration — there is no state in which this site sets an advertising cookie.
The one cookie we set ourselves
Your cookie-banner decision is stored in a single first-party cookie named exams_consent, set on the .exams.lv domain for 180 days. It records the decision itself (accepted or declined), when it was made, and on which of our two hostnames. Setting it on .exams.lv means app.exams.lv can read the same decision and will not ask you again.
If you accepted analytics, Google Analytics additionally sets its own measurement cookies on .exams.lv, shared between exams.lv and app.exams.lv so that a visit that starts here and continues in the app counts as one session, not two.
Payments
This marketing site takes no payments and never sees card details. Subscriptions and the 90-day pass are bought inside the application on app.exams.lv, where payment is processed by Stripe. Stripe receives the data needed to process the payment (such as your card details and email address) and acts as described in its own privacy policy; we receive confirmation of the payment and your subscription status, never your card number.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us for access to, rectification of, or erasure of your personal data, ask us to restrict or object to processing, and ask for a portable copy. Write to hello@exams.lv and we will answer within a month.
You can withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing the exams_consent cookie in your browser — the banner will ask again on your next visit. You can also complain to the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija, dvi.gov.lv) or your local supervisory authority.
